Training in Geochemistry and Petroleum Systems analysis
All training can be tailored to the client needs and they are offered in English or Spanish
Geochemical Foot Printing & Utility in Basin Modeling
Course content
This course emphasizes the multi-disciplinary approach for the evaluation of petroleum potential of basins and plays. It focuses on the integration of geochemical information into the geologic framework to estimate hydrocarbons available for entrapment within a basin.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
Participants will learn basic concepts of petroleum geochemistry and how to apply them into modern procedures of the numerical simulation of hydrocarbon generation to enable them to evaluate hydrocarbon charge. Lecture and workshop sessions alternate throughout the course.
Skills:
Students will use most common geochemical tools and simple calculations to simulate subsidence and thermal history and learn to use any 1D basin modelling program.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, exercises. Lectures are held in English or Spanish
